Panel Mount Solid State Relay for Industrial Heater Control
Silent, arc-free switching of band heaters, cartridge heaters, tubular heaters and IR heaters on ovens, dryers and reactors. Authorized Omron and Carlo Gavazzi panel-mount SSRs stocked in India with matching heatsinks and technical guidance.
Typical Industrial Heater Loads
- Band heaters on extruder barrels and injection moulding machines.
- Cartridge heaters in hot runner systems and platen dies.
- Tubular heaters in ovens, tanks and immersion heating.
- Infrared / ceramic heaters in shrink tunnels and curing lines.
- Strip heaters on hoppers and pre-heat sections.

Selection Guide for Heater Applications
| Load Type | Resistive heater β choose zero-cross switching SSR. |
|---|---|
| SSR Current Rating | 2Γ the actual heater current for safe headroom. |
| Control Signal | 4β32 VDC from PID controller or PLC output. |
| Heatsink | Mandatory above 10A load; forced cooling above 40A. |
| Protection | Semiconductor fuse in series to protect the SSR from short circuits. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why replace a contactor with an SSR for heater control?
SSRs switch silently, have no moving parts, allow tight PID control with fast cycle times, and easily outlast contactors under high switching frequency.
Which SSR do you recommend for a 30A band heater at 230V?
Omron G3NA-240B or Carlo Gavazzi RM1A23D50 with a matching heatsink (approx. 1 Β°C/W) is the standard combination.
Do you supply the heatsink as well?
Yes, we recommend and supply the correct heatsink based on your load current, ambient temperature and enclosure type.
Is a fuse necessary in series with the SSR?
Yes. SSRs fail short-circuit; a high-speed semiconductor fuse (aR/gR type) prevents damage to the heater and wiring.
