Panel Mount SSR with External Heatsink – India
Panel-mount solid state relays paired with the correct external heatsink deliver reliable switching for industrial heaters, plastic injection moulding machines, packaging lines and PID temperature control panels. Authorized supply of Omron and Carlo Gavazzi SSRs across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.
Recommended Applications
- Industrial heater control – band heaters, cartridge heaters, tubular heaters on ovens, dryers and reactors.
- Plastic injection moulding machines – barrel zone heater control driven by PID controllers.
- Packaging machinery – sealing bars, shrink tunnels and hot-melt glue systems.
- PID temperature controllers – DC pulse output from PID drives the SSR that switches the AC heater load.
In-Stock SSR + Heatsink Range
How to Select the Right Heatsink
| Load Current | Choose SSR rated at least 2× the actual load current. |
|---|---|
| Heatsink Thermal Resistance | Lower °C/W = better cooling. Typical: 0.5–1.5 °C/W for 25–50A loads. |
| Mounting | Use thermal paste between SSR base and heatsink; mount vertically for natural convection. |
| Ambient Temperature | Derate SSR current above 40 °C panel temperature. |
| Fan Cooling | Required for loads above 40A in enclosed panels. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a panel mount SSR need an external heatsink?
Every SSR dissipates roughly 1–1.5 W per amp of load current. Without an external heatsink, the internal junction quickly crosses safe limits and the SSR fails short.
Can I use the same SSR for a plastic injection moulding machine and a packaging heater?
Electrically yes, if the load current and control voltage match. However heatsink sizing changes with duty cycle – moulding barrel zones run at high duty and typically need a larger heatsink.
Do you supply Omron and Carlo Gavazzi SSRs as an authorized dealer?
Yes, we supply authorized Omron and Carlo Gavazzi solid state relays across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Bengaluru with pan-India dispatch.
Which SSR works with a PID temperature controller?
Any DC-control SSR (typically 4–32 VDC input) works with the SSR pulse output of standard PID controllers such as Autonics, Selec, Omron E5CC and similar.
