Trumen LSV Level Switch for Powders, Grains and Granules
Point-level detection in silos and hoppers where paddles wear out and capacitance struggles.
Powders are hard to sense: they are light, dusty, sometimes sticky and often abrasive. The Trumen LSV uses a vibrating fork that simply stops vibrating when material surrounds it, so it detects cement, fly ash, flour, grains and plastic chips without moving parts or recalibration when the product changes.

Example: LSV-HAN-T1-S6-G4-PB2-C4-EIUD-D2-L180 is a D2 fork (200 g/l minimum) on a 180 mm insertion. Send us your old part number and we will match it.

Mounting Tips for Powder Service
- Mount high alarms from the side or top. For a side mount, angle the fork slightly downward so powder slides off the tines.
- Stay away from the filling stream. Falling material hitting the fork causes false signals and wear — fit a protective canopy if space is tight.
- Avoid the silo wall. Keep the tips clear of the wall and of any bridge or rat-hole zone where powder hangs up.
- Set the fail-safe. Maximum fail-safe for high-level alarms, minimum fail-safe for low-level alarms.
- Use the delay. A wet/dry delay of a few seconds stops a surging or dusty surface from chattering the relay.
Trumen LSV Level Switch FAQs
Can the LSV detect very light powders?
Yes, with the D1 fork it works down to about 50 g/l. Standard D2 forks need 200 g/l and D3 forks 300 g/l.
Why choose a fork over a rotary paddle?
A fork has no motor, gearbox or bearing to wear, reacts in about 2 seconds and is not stopped by vibration from the silo.
Does the LSV need calibration for each material?
No. It detects any material that damps the fork, so changing from one powder to another needs no adjustment.
What size granules can it handle?
Free-flowing granules up to about 10 mm. Larger lumps can jam between the tines.
Can it be used in hot processes?
Standard units handle 80 °C; extended-temperature versions go up to 250 °C.
How fast can you deliver?
In-stock LSV units dispatch the same day from Noida with a GST invoice; other lengths are sourced from Trumen on request.
