Distance Measuring Sensor

Distance measuring sensors report how far away a target is as a continuous value, rather than simply switching when something is present. We supply laser time-of-flight, triangulation and ultrasonic types with analogue 4-20 mA or 0-10 V outputs and IO-Link versions where the panel supports it.

The choice usually comes down to the target: laser triangulation for short ranges and fine resolution on solid surfaces, time-of-flight for several metres, ultrasonic when the target is transparent, shiny or dusty and optical methods struggle. Repeatability, spot size and the response time your PLC scan needs are the numbers to compare.
