Which series do you actually need?
Nearly every sensor on this site runs on 24 V DC, and the power supply is the part people specify last and regret first. The choice comes down to where it mounts and how much headroom you leave.
LRS — enclosed, low profile
The general-purpose workhorse. Slim metal case, screw terminals, mounts on a panel back-plate. Best value per watt, which is why LRS-350-24 and LRS-150-24 are the most requested codes we hold.
DR / SDR / NDR — DIN rail
Clips straight onto the same rail as your breakers and terminals. SDR and NDR are the slimmer, higher-efficiency versions; DR is the economical option for smaller loads.
HDR & EDR — ultra slim DIN
For crowded panels where rail width is the constraint. Lower power, but they take up very little room.
DRT & RSP — high power
DRT-960-24 is the three-phase DIN unit; RSP-750-24 is the enclosed high-current supply for larger machines.

The number in the code is the output wattage and the trailing -24 is the output voltage, so LRS-350-24 is a 350 W 24 V unit. That makes sizing straightforward once you have added up the load.
Sizing it properly
- Add up the real load — every sensor, relay coil, valve and indicator on that rail, not just the obvious ones.
- Leave 30% headroom. A supply run at its limit gets hot, and heat is what kills them.
- Watch the inrush. Solenoid valves and contactor coils draw far more at switch-on than they do running.
- Check the panel temperature. Output derates as ambient rises — a supply that is fine on the bench can fail in a closed panel in summer.
- Mind the rail width if the panel is already full; that is what the HDR and slim SDR versions are for.
- Single or three phase — DRT is the three-phase unit; everything else here is single phase.

Frequently asked questions
What does the number in a Mean Well code mean?
The output wattage, followed by the output voltage. LRS-350-24 is 350 W at 24 V DC. Sizing is a matter of adding up your load and leaving headroom.
LRS or DIN rail — which should I pick?
If the panel has DIN rail space, the SDR and NDR series clip alongside your breakers and make the wiring tidier. If you are mounting on a back-plate and want the most watts for the money, LRS is the usual answer.
How much headroom should I leave?
Around 30%. Supplies run near their limit get hot, and heat shortens their life more than anything else. It is cheaper to size up now than to replace the unit in eighteen months.
