The Micro Detectors SSP/AP-1H is a polarised retro-reflective photoelectric sensor in an M18 body with a 2 m operating range and PNP normally open output. It is made by Micro Detectors (now Datasensing).
The sensor sends polarised light to a reflector and receives it back. When an object breaks the beam the output switches. The polarising filter stops shiny objects from reflecting light back by mistake, so it works well on glossy cartons, cans and wrapped products. Use it with a prism (micro-prism) reflector.
