Limit Switch
VXT-LS series limit switches, manufactured by VoxinTech and stocked in India β built as direct replacements for the Omron WL, Schneider (Telemecanique) XCK, BCH and Teknic NG switches already fitted on Indian machinery. Finding the replacement for a switch already on your machine
Most limit switch purchases are replacements, and the difficulty is never the switch β it is identifying what is currently fitted once the label has worn off. The actuator style is what has to match: the body can be substituted, but a roller lever will not sit where a plunger was, and a cross roller plunger will not follow a cam meant for a swing rod.
The table below maps each VXT-LS reference to the Omron and Schneider switch it replaces. If your existing switch is not listed, send us a photograph of the head and the mounting β the actuator is usually identifiable from its shape alone.

Roller swing rod β T4, T5, T8, T9
For a cam or moving part that passes across the switch; the rod pivots as the cam sweeps by. The adjustable versions (T8, T9) let you set rod length and angle on the machine rather than choosing it at order time β worth the small premium on a retrofit where the geometry is uncertain.
Plunger β T11
For a part approaching head-on, directly onto the plunger. The most compact head, but it needs the approach to be square and controlled; an off-axis knock will damage it.
Cross and vertical roller plunger β T12, T22
A plunger with a roller on top, for a cam approaching from the side or from above. It tolerates the sliding contact that would wear a plain plunger, and is the usual choice on slides and gantries.
Plain versus M-suffix versions
The M suffix denotes an M12 connector in place of a cable gland. Where a machine already has cordset wiring, the M12 version turns replacement into an unplug-and-plug job; on a new build with conduit, the cable-gland version is simpler.
Limit switch or proximity sensor?
- A limit switch is mechanical. Contacts change state when the actuator moves, and it can sit directly in a control circuit without a controller input β which is why it survives in heavy and legacy machinery.
- A proximity sensor has no moving parts and lasts far longer at high cycle rates, but needs power and a controller input. See inductive proximity sensors.
- High cycle rates favour the sensor. A mechanical actuator has a finite operation count; a proximity sensor does not wear.
- Dirt, coolant and impact favour the switch. A metal-bodied limit switch tolerates conditions that shorten a sensor's life.
Common questions
Will a VXT-LS switch fit where my Omron WLCA2-2 was?
Yes β the T4 and T5 references are built as direct replacements for the WLCA2-2, matching the mounting and actuator. Check the actuator style against the table above, since the WLCA family covers several heads.
What does the M suffix mean?
An M12 connector in place of a cable entry. Electrically and mechanically the switch is otherwise identical.
How do I identify a switch with no readable label?
Photograph the head and the mounting face and send them to us. The actuator style and body form usually identify the family, and the mounting centres confirm the rest.
Do you supply Schneider XCK switches themselves?
The XCK range is not held in stock. The VXT-LS series is manufactured as an equivalent and is what we supply against those references β the cross-reference table above shows which replaces which.
