What Is a Horizontal Limit Switch?

A horizontal limit switch is a position-sensing switch actuated from the side, usually via a rotary roller lever mounted on a horizontal operating head. As a moving machine part travels past the switch, it rotates the lever, tripping the internal snap-action contacts and signalling the controller. How a Horizontal Limit Switch Works

In a horizontal limit switch, the operating head holds a rotary lever (often with a roller on the end). When the moving object contacts the roller, the lever pivots about the head's shaft. This rotary motion drives the snap-action mechanism inside, changing the contact state.
