Troubleshooting

When the Line Misbehaves

Labels skipped

Re-run AUTOSET on the current roll; a new liner batch can change opacity. For clear labels switch the LABEL•EYE to Translucent mode.

Clear bottles missed

Check the RSRC-1 is aimed at its own AR6151 reflector and within 15 cm – 2.4 m; a standard reflector will not keep polarisation.

Output chatters

Enable a short timer (EZ-PRO offers 10, 25 or 50 ms) or clean the lens and reflector.

No output at all

Check the M8 connector pin-out and that you are wiring the NPN or PNP output your PLC expects.

Label & Photoelectric Sensor FAQs

What is the difference between LER and LERC?

Both are LABEL•EYE label sensors with the same optics and 100 µs response. The LER has a 6 ft four-conductor cable, the LERC has a 4-pin M8 connector.

Can the LABEL•EYE detect translucent labels?

Yes. Its one-button setup has a Normal mode for opaque labels and a Translucent mode for semi-transparent labels, sensing through the backing paper to find the gap.

When should I choose the Mini Label Eye (MLEP)?

When space is tight or the labeller is very fast. The MLEP is a compact infrared thru-beam label sensor with a 35 µs response, runs on 4.75–30 V DC and is rated IP65 from −40 °C to 70 °C.

How does the RSRC-1 see clear bottles?

It uses coaxial polarised reflection with the supplied AR6151 reflector. A clear bottle changes the polarised light enough to be detected reliably from 15 cm to 2.4 m, while shiny surfaces do not cause false triggers.

What is the EZPIC used for?

The EZPIC is an EZ-PRO general-purpose sensor with an infrared LED and a quick-disconnect connector, set up with one-button AUTOSET. It suits beam-make or beam-break detection where a simple, rugged sensor is needed.
