Frequently Asked Questions
How many ports do I need?
Count the sensors the box will serve and leave headroom. Four to six sensors suit a 4- or 6-port box; seven or eight suit an 8-port; nine or ten, or a long conveyor run, suit a 10-port.
What does dual channel mean?
Each port carries two signals instead of one. That suits double-acting pneumatic cylinders, which use two magnetic reed switches. A dual-channel port also accepts a single-signal sensor, so it covers both cases.
Which cable length should I order?
2 m for a box mounted close to the panel, 5 m for most mid-span positions, 10 m for a box at the far end of a conveyor. Order the length you need - excess cable coiled in the tray is wasted money.
Are these boxes sealed for wash-down?
Yes. The VXT-JB series is fully epoxy potted and rated IP67, so there is no cavity for condensation and no screw terminals to shake loose.
