About the Datalogic Fixed Scanner Range

Datalogic's fixed industrial scanner range is built around one idea: put the whole reader — sensor, optics, illumination, decoder and fieldbus interface — into a single sealed housing so the machine builder does not have to add a controller, a frame grabber or a separate light. What changes across the range is the sensor, the optics and the working distance.

This page is the index to that range. Each family below has its own detailed page with the full published specification, the available configurations, and the equivalent models from Keyence, Cognex, SICK and Zebra in the same class. The master table further down lets you narrow the choice to two or three candidates before you open the detail pages.

All figures on this page and the linked pages are the manufacturers' published values as collated in the Datalogic product technical comparison, July 2026.

Equivalent Models by Brand

The alternative readers covered across the individual product pages.

Please read before you substitute. The models listed here are presented as comparable alternatives in the same resolution and application class. They are not claimed to be technically interchangeable with the Datalogic models in every application. Final equivalence must be confirmed against your actual application, full specification, communication interface, mounting and optical geometry, achieved read rate on your own samples, and compatibility with your existing controls, software and spares.
Brand Models covered
Keyence SR-750, SR-1000 / SR-1000N, SRX-100, SR-2000N / SR-2000WN, SRX-300, SR-X300W / X300WP, SR-5000, SR-5000W, SR-5000X

How to Confirm a True Equivalent

Six checks that decide whether an alternative reader is genuinely equivalent for your line.

  • ApplicationDoes the alternative reader actually cover your code type, marking process, substrate and surface finish? A reader that matches on paper can still fail on a low-contrast laser mark.
  • SpecificationsCompare sensor resolution, field of view, depth of field and frame rate at your real working distance — not at the manufacturer's best case.
  • InterfaceCheck the fieldbus and protocol list against your PLC or line controller: PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, Modbus, RS232 and OPC UA support all differ between brands.
  • MountingHousing dimensions, connector orientation, cable exit and bracket pattern decide whether a swap is a bolt-on or a panel redesign.
  • PerformanceValidate the achieved read rate on your own sample parts at line speed, not on a demonstration code.
  • CompatibilityConfirm configuration software, licensing, spare parts availability, and whether your maintenance team already holds the tooling and training for that brand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a fixed industrial barcode scanner?
A fixed industrial scanner is a reader permanently mounted on a machine, conveyor or robot cell. The part moves past it, the reader triggers automatically from a sensor or a PLC signal, and the decoded data goes straight to the line controller over Ethernet. There is no operator and no hand scanning involved.
How do I choose between the Matrix 120, 220, 320, AV500, 830 and 930?
Work from the code and the geometry. Small code, short range, tight space: Matrix 120 or 220. Varying part height or DPM marks: Matrix 220 XAI. Wide field or long range on a production line: Matrix 320. Cartons and parcels at half a metre to two metres: AV500. Wide belt sortation and tunnels: Matrix 830 at 16 MP or Matrix 930 at 28 MP.
Are the equivalent models drop-in replacements for the Datalogic units?
No. They are comparable alternatives in the same class. Housing dimensions, connector orientation, fieldbus support, configuration software and licensing all differ between brands, so a swap has to be verified against your application, mounting and controls before it is treated as equivalent.
Do you supply in India with GST invoice?
Yes. IndustryPapa supplies pan-India with a GST invoice, and offers OEM and bulk pricing. Stock and indent options vary by model and configuration — send the model and configuration you need and we will confirm availability and lead time.
Can you help select the right configuration?
Yes. Send the code type and size, the marking process, the reading distance, the part or belt width and the line speed, and we will come back with a recommended configuration and a quotation.
