Datalogic Sensors
Industrypapa stocks and supplies Datalogic industrial sensors in India — photoelectric, contrast, inductive proximity, ultrasonic, slot and safety light curtain ranges, including the S3N, S5N, S100, S300, S8, IS, TL46 and TLµ families. Every part below is quoted with a GST invoice and dispatched pan-India.
Datalogic, Datasensor and DataSensing — are they the same thing?
Yes, in practice they are the same product line under three names. The sensor range began with Datasensor, an Italian photoelectric sensor maker; Datalogic acquired it and sold the sensors under the Datalogic brand for many years, which is why older units in the field are still stamped “Datasensor”. More recently the industrial automation sensor business has been presented under the DataSensing name within the Datalogic group. If your machine documentation says Datasensor and the sensor you are searching for says Datalogic or DataSensing, you are looking at the same part number.
That matters when you are sourcing a replacement: a code such as S5N-PA-5-C01-PP is valid whichever of the three names is printed on the label, so search by the code rather than by the brand name.

What the Datalogic part number tells you
A Datalogic code is read left to right. The first block is the housing family — S5N, S100, TL46, IS — and it fixes the size and mounting. The middle blocks set the optical function: diffuse, retro-reflective polarised, through-beam, laser or fibre-optic, together with the supply type. The final block is the electrical output and connection, where codes ending in PP, PK and PH are the PNP versions and NN, NK and NH the NPN ones, with the letter also telling you whether the sensor is supplied with a fly lead or an M12 plug.
Because a single letter changes the sensing mode, the safest way to order a replacement is to send us the complete code from the sensor body or from your old delivery note. We will match it exactly where it is still current, and quote the direct equivalent where a series has been superseded.
Choosing between the sensing modes
Diffuse
The emitter and receiver sit in one housing and the sensor sees light bounced back off the target itself. Simplest to install, shortest range, and sensitive to the colour and finish of the object.
Retro-reflective
The sensor faces a reflector across the gap and detects the break in the returned beam. Longer range than diffuse and largely indifferent to target colour, which is why it is the usual choice on conveyors.
Through-beam
Separate emitter and receiver facing each other. The longest range and the most reliable in dust, mist or wash-down, at the cost of wiring both sides of the machine.
Contrast and label
The TL and TLµ families read the printed registration mark rather than the presence of the object — the right tool for form-fill-seal machines, flow wrappers and label applicators.
Buying Datalogic sensors in India
Industrypapa supplies Datalogic sensors to OEMs, machine builders, packaging and pharma plants, and maintenance teams across India. Stock parts ship the same or next working day; parts not held are quoted with a firm lead time rather than an open-ended one. Orders are invoiced with GST and delivered pan-India, and we are happy to quote against a bill of materials or a photograph of the sensor label if the code has worn off.
If you are cross-shopping brands, our photoelectric sensor, inductive proximity sensor, contrast sensor, ultrasonic sensor and Pepperl+Fuchs pages list the alternatives we hold. For anything not shown here, send us the part number.
Frequently asked questions
Is Industrypapa a Datalogic distributor in India?
We are a stockist and supplier of Datalogic sensors in India. We hold the fast-moving photoelectric, proximity and contrast ranges and source the rest to order, with GST invoicing and pan-India delivery.
My sensor says Datasensor, not Datalogic. Will the part fit?
Yes. Datasensor is the earlier brand name for the same range. Order by the part number printed on the body and the replacement will be the same sensor.
Do you supply the reflectors, cables and brackets too?
Yes — reflectors, M12 connector cables, fibre-optic cables such as the OF series and mounting hardware are all available alongside the sensors.
What if my part number has been discontinued?
Send us the code and the application. We will identify the current equivalent, tell you what changes — usually the connector or the output stage — and quote both if a like-for-like unit is still obtainable.
