Why Channel Matters More on a Scanner Than on a Sensor

A proximity switch that arrives from an unknown source is a nuisance if it fails. A fixed industrial scanner is different: it is configured, it holds a job file, it is tied into a PLC over a fieldbus, and when it fails the line stops until an identical unit is configured and dropped in its place. That makes where you bought it a production issue, not a procurement one.

The three failure modes are consistent. The warranty is declined because the unit did not come through the regional channel. Firmware and configuration software cannot be obtained for that serial.
